Project Aura

Risk analysts at Marsh McLennan were spending four hours a case hunting numbers in PDFs. I designed a closed-loop AI copilot they would actually sign. No rewrite of a 15-year database.

I sat in a government queue for two hours over a billing dispute. Then I interviewed 28 factory owners and built the forensic auditor that finds what the bill never explains out loud.

About

Fifteen years. The job changed. The starting point did not.

I began because I was curious about digital tools. That curiosity turned into a career of making complex software usable for people who do not have time to decode it.

Today I lead the trust layer between human judgment and agentic AI. As UX Manager at Marsh McLennan I lead a team of four. As founder of OptiBill I took a product from a personal headache to production, end to end.

I am deepening that practice through an Advanced Certification in GenAI and Agentic AI. The certificate is useful. Sitting with users is still the work.

Practice

What I actually do in the room.

  1. Research that survives a steering committee

    I still start in the room with people. Interviews, usability tests, Jobs to be Done, journey maps. Then I translate that into a story leadership can fund without sanding off the truth.

  2. Product design at system scale

    Figma systems, IA, prototypes, enterprise SaaS patterns. The handoff has to be something engineering can ship on a Tuesday, not a deck they admire on a Friday.

  3. AI product design

    RAG experience, human in the loop, explainability seams, AI-SUS trust scoring. I design the 6 percent failure as carefully as the 94 percent success.

  4. Domains I already speak

    Finance, fintech, InsurTech, education, HR, GDPR, CSRD, RegTech. I do not need a two-week orientation to know why a citation is a legal object, not a tooltip.

How I work

Same Double Diamond. Sharper when the output is a probability.

I have run this process for 15 years. For AI, I add a data-readiness check and a failure-mode pass before any screen is precious.

Discover

Sit with users. For AI, ask whether the data is even allowed to leave the building.

Define

Frame the job. Name the exact moments a model must hand the wheel back.

Design

Confidence, citation, and the approval gate are first-class UI, not footnotes.

Prove it

Wizard of Oz trials and trust scores before anyone calls it intelligent.
